In the early hours of the morning, Harper was born into this world.
She was born right in her own home, and her birthday was just as perfect as could be.
There’s really nothing like seeing two people become parents for the first time … such a gift.
This is a preview of the night Brooke & Brian met their daughter.

Hi everyone!! We are hoping that you can help us out with something really awesome! We’re keeping our words short over here with the hopes you’ll head over to Gary & Courtney’s blog for all of the details. We are a part of an amazing fundraiser which is raising money to help people with disabilities in Ukraine. A team of 20 people will be trekking on Mt. Everest in 2013, and they need our help.
Jim & I have donated a discounted Together session (valued at $600), and several fine-art photography prints from our adventures here in Oregon. We are really passionate about giving, and we really hope this fundraiser speaks to your heart.
To get the Together session: Head over to Gary & Courtney’s blog for all of the details. Scroll to section #5 to see if our session is still available … if so, you’ll hit the ‘Donate Now’ button at the bottom of the post. Even if we’re booked, look to see if there’s another photographer (near you, or a place you’ll be traveling), pick them!! Be sure to act quickly as we are only offering one session.
To get a beautiful fine-art print: It doesn’t matter if it’s one of our prints, or another print by our amazingly talented friends. Head over to Gary & Courtney’s blog for the details here. Look for section #3 with a link to all of the available prints. Once you find the one you’d love (they are HUGE, beautiful prints, 16x20), go back, hit the “Donate Now” button. Once you’ve donated, head back to the post … leave a comment about your donation, and the print you’d like.
Lastly, we’ve teamed up with Czar Press to created a limited edition run of letterpress fine-art prints for this journey. When you donate $50, you have the option of a photographic print from the trip, or one of the limited edition letterpress prints. They are BEAUTIFUL! See section #2 for all of the details.
That’s it!! Please head over to Gary & Courtney’s blog for all of the information. Thank you in advance for being a part of this amazing journey.

Back in October, Matt & Ali celebrated their sixth wedding anniversary. We felt honored when they asked us to come out to Skamania Lodge to photograph their love.
Everything about this session was pure perfection. The air was fresh & crisp, the sun was shining, and M&A let their love shine!
They wanted a little touch of vintage charm to their session, so they dressed accordingly, and really focused on the details by bringing items that mean a lot to them. The earings Ali wore for the session were the same she wore on their wedding day, and they once belonged to her grandmother. The blanket (oh, that blanket is awesome) was given to her mom by her great-grandma back in the 60’s … Matt & Ali cuddle up on the couch with it almost every night. The deer pin was purchased at Velor, their favorite vintage/resale shop in Newberg. They also collect vintage cameras, and one of these was owned by Ali’s grandfather. The cameo ring was a birthday gift from Matt … he found it at their favorite vintage shop in Lincoln City. Ali’s hair & makeup was done by Jessica Belknap. Reason number 4,826 why you should hire a makeup artist … it lasts all day & looks fabulous!
For a couple who loves adventuring (did I mention they are our soulmates), Skamania Lodge was the perfect backdrop for the session. It’s about an hour from Portland, so it’s the perfect little weekend getaway.
We absolutely loved spending a bit of M&A’s anniversary with them!! Love these two … oh yeah, we think you might too! Check out their site.

On Thanksgiving, we were lucky enough to spend our day with this sweet family. In what is surely unheard of, it was SUNNY in November … on the coast. Sun + the Oregon coast isn’t a common occurance … we felt blessed with beautiful weather & our lovely friends for letting us be a part of their family. We don’t shoot family sessions very often, but when we do, this is what we like to see: family coming together for a bit to have fun in front of the camera. It’s not about posing … it’s about being yourselves & enjoying the company.
