Rome :: The Birth Story

As some of you know J and I have our work together (weddings & engagements) which we showcase on this blog … What you might not know is that I have my own work where I specialize in maternity, newborn, and birth photography. Recently, I was given the amazing opportunity to document the birth of baby Rome. Rome’s parents, Laura & Jerry, were our very first wedding clients ever, so his birth held a very special place in my heart. I have a full slideshow of images over on my blog, but I thought I’d let the following photos tell a bit of the story.

The photo on the left is one of my favorites. Laura was so peaceful.

I didn’t see this happening when I snapped the photo on the right … but look in the background: As Laura’s grandmother is looking at baby Rome, her grandfather is giving her a loving kiss on the forehead. So beautiful.

If you are pregnant, and thinking of having your birth photographed, please contact me. This experience isn’t for everyone, but if you’re looking for an intimate, beautiful set of photographs to tell the story of your birth, having a professional photographer there cannot be recommended enough!

Here’s what Laura & Jerry said about their birth photography experience: ““I am so excited to see the rest of the them and be able to relive those amazing moments anytime I want. Everyone should have a photographer in the room when their child is born! I will never be able to redo those hours but having them so beautifully documented will last forever.”
