Hello! We are Jim and Ravyn Stadick. Welcome to our little home on the internet. First things first, Jim is like Jim … or Gym, you get it, right? Ravyn is like the bird. Stadick is like electricity. Yes, those are our real names. Together, we are a husband + wife photography team who love what we do and love our super fun, awesome, amazing clients even more. We are based in Portland, Oregon, and our hearts sing big time when we travel.

Happy Wednesday. I just wanted to take a minute to share some frames from our latest roll from the Holga. We got this baby last summer, and have dubbed her “The Incredible Holg.” After developing the latest roll, from a few different trips (really trying to shoot more film… baby steps), we found out she gets along well with Tri-X 400. They made beautiful babies together. -J
*On a side note, this is hopefully the first post out of a ton to come. As you may know, we’re mainly a digital family, but we’ve been trying hard to incorporate more film into our diets. It provides the necessary challanges for us to continue to push beyond our comfort zone and be creative, to work on technique, and hopefully create some really beautiful and artistic images. Check out a few more on our personal blog. The Oregon Tale*
We’re so excited that we were featured today on Champagne’s blog today. They are an amazing wedding coordination company based right here in Portland. I had the amazing privelage of meeting with Mandi a few weeks ago, and she’s just great. If you’re looking for someone to help relieve some of the wedding planning stress, who will deliver above & beyond your expectations, do not hesitate to contact them! You can see our interview with Champagne over on their blog.

As we roll into the new year, it has recently come to my attention that my presence on our blog has been weak, at best. For that, I sincerely apologize. Starting now, you will get more of the smartassness, bland humor, and possibly unwanted commentary from yours truly. This will continue until I get emails and late night phone calls begging me to stop. But I digress…
The real reason for this post is to give a look at a very recent shoot for the lovely (and better) half of Jim & Ravyn Photographers; one Miss Ravyn Stadick. As you might know, R is cookin’ with gas on her, still rather new at just over a year, design company Three Fifteen Design. As we made the trek to Oregon, she gained more traction with her designs and is starting the year off with some amazing new clients. Upon beginning in a new location, the site has undergone some upgrades and R wanted to reflect her new setting and design atmosphere with updated portraits. After roaming about the hills of NW Portland, we settled on a tiny “park” that consisted of a mossy path, hoards of pine trees, and a quiet seating area. It was super fun to have her on the other side of the camera; a sometimes uncommon ground for the reclusive photographer. :)
My favorite of the day. Always great to capture a sweet smile like that.
And this one… because what’s a shoot without some ridiculous crotch action on a self timer?
